Scripture:
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”— Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

Devotional Thought:
A cheer ripples through the crowd. Backstage, the band stands ready—hands poised over strings and keys, drumsticks balanced between fingers. Backline techs wait in the shadows, eyes fixed on the stage manager. Every cable is in place, every instrument tuned, but no one moves until the signal comes. In that breathless pause, the air is thick with anticipation. Everyone knows their role. Everyone knows the plan. All that’s left is to wait for the cue.
But sometimes the cue feels like it’s not coming.
When you’re a Stage Wife—waiting for your husband to come home, waiting for schedules to align, waiting for a text that says “landed safe”—you get to know waiting intimately. You live in a constant state of readiness, your heart leaning forward, straining for some kind of sign that things will settle, that a new season is coming, that your faithfulness will bear fruit.
Faith is a lot like waiting for a cue you can’t see yet. It’s trusting that even though you don’t have all the information, God does. That life is still in motion, even when your heart feels paused. That you don’t need to control every detail, every minute, every result—because God is orchestrating all of it.
Faith means holding for the cue and staying ready—even when it takes longer than you expected.
Reflection Prompt:
Where am I waiting for something in faith right now?How can I stay prepared without forcing the outcome?
Prayer:
God, I don’t always understand Your timing. It’s hard to wait when I feel uncertain, disconnected, or restless. But I trust that You’re in control. Help me to be patient for Your cues with grace. Strengthen my faith to remain expectant, even when it feels quiet. I know You are still moving. Amen.
Journal Activity:
Make a list of three areas where you're currently "holding for the cue"—waiting on God’s timing or answers. Beside each one, write a truth from Scripture that reminds you that God is in control and the wait is not wasted.
