Scripture:

“Be still, and know that I am God.”— Psalm 46:10 (NIV)

Devotional Thought:

Signal flow is everything in the world of audio. One disruption in the chain—a bad cable, a loose connection, an overload—can throw everything off. So much energy is spent checking, testing, and adjusting. But for you, wife of a touring tech or musician, life often feels like a nonstop flow of motion too.

Schedules shift. Calls come in at strange hours. Flights change. Soundchecks run late. It can feel like you’re constantly adjusting your own “signal” just to stay connected—with your spouse, with your kids, with your own emotional well-being.

And yet, God whispers something radically different.

“Be still.”

Not “do more.”Not “figure it out.”Not “respond faster.”

But simply: “Be still… and know that I am God.”

Stillness can feel impossible when you're holding down a household, managing little ones, and juggling a relationship that spans miles and time zones. But the kind of stillness God offers isn’t about stopping everything—it’s about anchoring your heart in Him even while life moves around you.

Stillness in the middle of signal flow means you don’t have to control every outcome. It means that while the tour world spins at full speed, you can root yourself in a peace that surpasses understanding. It means you can listen before reacting. Rest before rushing. Pray before planning.

Because He is still God, even when you’re still figuring it out.

Reflection Prompt:

What noise has been drowning out God’s peace in my life lately? What would “stillness” look like in this season for me?

Prayer:

Lord, I confess that sometimes I move faster than I listen. Help me to pause, to breathe, and to remember that You are in control—even when I feel like everything is in motion. Teach me how to be still in You, no matter what’s swirling around me. Anchor me in Your peace. Amen.

Journal Activity:

Draw or describe a picture of what “stillness” looks like for your soul. Is it a quiet moment in the morning? A worship song that grounds you? A walk without your phone? Write it down, and schedule it into your week like it matters—because it does.
